All three teams were knocked out of the Wallace,Junior and Minor Cup after losses to North Kildare, and North Wicklow twice. The Firsts gave their Senior 3 opponents a hell of a scare on Sunday in Kilcock, chasing 183 to win we come up 40 runs short and a mention for Charlie Butler who scored a sublime 73 runs. Much can be written regarding the spirit the game was played in but the less said the better. The Seconds and Thirds both came mighty close to defeating North Wicklow Thirds and Fourths, special mentions to Mark Ingamells who scored a fifty on Sunday, and to Kamran Mahmood who scored a well made 40 on Saturday and to Rob Shekleton who also hit 40 odd on Saturday. Roll on this weekend where all 3 teams are playing. |

The Seconds unfortunately lost both their league matches this weekend, a strong Railway Union side chased down Knockharley's score of 193 for 9 on Saturday, the highlights for Knockharley were Alan Elliott 46 not out-including one of the hardest hit fours I have ever seen!, and a stylish 44 form Simba, Railway proved too strong and were helped by some wayward bowling. Sunday saw the Irish Ladies visit Knockharley and some disiciplined bowling restricted Knockharley to 120 odd, again Alan Elliot did himself proud with 4 sixes in a solid knock and there was also a rare six for old fox Whaley!, In reply the ladies lost only four wickets in chasing down their target. Meanwhile on Sunday the Firsts travelled to Angelsea Road to take on Merrion 4ths in the First round of the Middle 2 cup, Merrion who play 2 leagues above us batted first and made 191 for 8 off their 40 overs, Knockharleys highlights were Ali Ghulam 4 for 31, Darrel Varney 2 for 25, Saqi 1 for 16 and Danish Ali 1 for 22, I must mention two of our players fancy footwork which would look good on come dancing but sadly led to two fours in the outfield. In reply Knockharley chased down the required runs with 8 balls to spare, this despite being 94 for 5 at the drinks break, Danish Ali joined Dave at the crease with the score 134 for 6, needing 60 runs off 10 overs the lads saw Knockharley home with Danish hiiting 5 fours and a six in his explosive 44 not out, while Dave carried his bat for 62 not out. the other highlights were Ali Ghulam 27, Saqi 12 and Simba 11. A great cup win and our unbeaten run continues. A special thanks to Ken Elliot for umpiring again for us, many thanks Ken for a job well done! |

The nets are up and running thanks to some finishing off today by Ralph, Peter, Dave, Jim, Jack, Gavin and Simba. Training should run a lot smoother now and we have no excuses anymore... There are a few photos up in the gallery of the nets. |

Knockharley 1st eleven won their 4th league match of the season today Sunday to make it 4 wins out of 4 in the Leinster league, playing at home in Veldonstown Knockharley batted first against Kildare side Halverstown and made 153 for the loss of 7 wickets, Anthony Bellew top scored with 40 runs and there were also good contributions from Fred Symmons 23 runs and Liam Giggins 25 runs not out. In reply Halverstown could only manage 63 runs all out with the Knockharley wicket takers Shoaib Khan 3 wickets Darragh Roundtree 2 wickets and a wicket apiece for Simba Mujeni, Danish Ali, Liam Giggins and Rupert Pollock. Team: D.Symmons (c), F.Symmons, M.Usman, D.Roundtree, S.Khan, R.Pollock, S.Mujeni, R.Condie, L.Giggins, D.Ali, A.Bellew
The Thirds were unfortunate to come up against a very strong North County side at Balrothery on Saturday, batting first North County scored over 250 runs and Knockharley made just 65 in reply, congrats to Jack Condie who top scored with 16 runs and to Joe Ingamells who got his first Knockharley wicket. Next weekend will see the Thirds playing on Sunday away, the Seconds playing away to Railway Union on Saturday and at home to the Irish ladies on Sunday, The Firsts meanwhile are away to Merrion in the first round of the Middle cup on Sunday. |

Knockharley's First eleven continued their superb start to the season with an emphatic win away against YMCA in Sandymount Dublin on Sunday. As one Meath team struggled against the Dubs at Croker the boys from Knockharley gave their Dub opponents a severe beating. Batting first Knockharley made 208 for 9 wickets off 40 overs, Anthony Bellew top scored with 58 not out he was well supported by skipper Dave Symmons (30) Liam Giggins (18) and Mohammed Usman (18). In reply YMCA stuttered to just 88 all out with Danesh Ali 4 for 19, Shoaib Khan 2 for 13 Liam Giggins 1 for 18 and Charlie Butler 1 for 11 doing the damage. This was a great team effort and result and should see Knockharley consolidate their place at the top of Intermediate A League in the Leinster League. Team: Dave Symmons(c) Danesh Ali,Darragh Roundtree, Charlie Butler, Saqi Furqan, Liam Giggins, Kamran Mahmood, Shoaib Khan, Alan Elliott, Mohammed Usman,Anthony Bellew. The seconds were expecting Railway Union at home today but the visitors inexplicably decided to make the decision that Knockharley was unplayable!, which certainly was not the case!. The Thirds were due to play Merrion at home on Saturday but once again the visitors from Dublin cried off due to unavailability of players.
